A late-night airport pickup with an uncertain arrival time
The Yousaf family was returning to Islamabad after spending the summer in Doha. They were travelling with two young children and four large suitcases, which made arranging a reliable airport pickup particularly important.
On a previous journey, a flight delay had left them waiting for almost two hours at the arrivals area. When they eventually found a curbside driver, they also faced a fare disagreement late at night.
For this trip, their Doha flight began showing repeated delays before boarding. The family needed reassurance that the driver would follow the actual flight time rather than the original schedule.
Tracking the flight from departure
We began monitoring the flight from the time it departed Doha. As the delay increased, the driver’s dispatch window was moved back accordingly.
This prevented the driver from arriving too early while also ensuring that the vehicle would be positioned before the passengers left the terminal.
Before departure, the family received the driver’s name, photograph and Toyota Corolla details. This gave them a clear point of contact before landing in Islamabad.
Driver waiting before the aircraft landed
The aircraft eventually touched down at Islamabad International Airport at 4:10am, approximately 3.5 hours behind schedule.
The assigned driver reached the arrivals meet-and-greet point twenty minutes before the actual landing time. He was waiting with the passenger’s name displayed when the family cleared customs.
No additional waiting charge was applied for the flight delay.
No waiting and no fare renegotiation
The family left the terminal and immediately met the assigned driver. Their luggage was loaded within minutes, and they travelled directly from Islamabad International Airport to F-8.
The amount paid was exactly the same as the fixed fare quoted three days earlier. There was no surge pricing, no delay fee and no fare renegotiation at 4am.
