Why it stops cooling

The most common cause is low refrigerant from a slow leak — refilling without fixing the leak means it’ll warm up again within weeks. Other causes: a worn compressor (often noisy), a clogged condenser or cooling coil restricting flow, a blocked cabin filter, or a failing blower motor.

The right fix

Diagnose first: check the gas level and pressures, look for the leak, and test the compressor and airflow. Fix the actual fault — reseal or replace the leaking part, repair or replace the compressor/coil — then recharge. That’s what makes the cooling last, rather than a refill every month.
